The Clare Vintage Diamond Ring
The Clare vintage ring features a trio of bright diamonds, standing tall and ready to adorn.
- Currently an AU size I

- 9ct gold band
- Features three round brilliant cut, illusion set diamonds, measuring approx. 1.5 to 2mm
The illusion setting is credited to a Parisian jeweller, Oscar Massin, who was influential to the Art Nouveau movement in the late 1890s. This was popularised again, after the end of the war - 1950s era engagement rings featured modestly-sized diamonds being presented in white gold illusion settings in order to make them appear larger.
The post-war economy boom in the 1950s saw a love affair with diamonds. Diamond company De Beers’ iconic “Diamonds are Forever” campaign created an aspirational buzz which the movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, starring Marilyn Monroe, exacerbated with the infamous “diamonds are a girl’s best friend” musical number.
