What truly sets Molten Store’s bespoke jewellery apart is the way we invite you into the process, starting with access, choice, and expertise.
Bespoke with us begins not with limitation, but with possibility. We hold an extensive Gemstone Library with hundreds of coloured gemstones and diamonds, available to view in person. This allows you to explore, compare, and connect with stones before committing to a final design, an experience that is rare within contemporary jewellery.
Stone selection is often the most exciting and meaningful part of a bespoke journey. Being able to see stones side by side, understand their nuances, and respond to them instinctively creates a very different design experience than sourcing unseen stones later in the process.
From there, we offer two distinct pathways into bespoke creation:
- Signature Settings, personalised
Our Signature Settings are a curated collection of designs that offer an exceptional foundation for bespoke jewellery. These designs can be customised with your choice of gemstone, metal, proportions, and refined details. By pairing a distinctive stone with thoughtful customisations, many clients create a piece that feels entirely unique while benefiting from a beautifully resolved, time‑tested design. - Completely bespoke creations
For those wanting something entirely individual, we also design pieces from the ground up. This full bespoke approach allows us to collaborate closely with you to create a design unlike anything we’ve made before, guided by your ideas, inspiration, and lifestyle. - We’re also proud to work with heirloom stones. If you own a gemstone with personal meaning, whether set in an existing piece or loose, we welcome the opportunity to explore how it could be reimagined or incorporated into a new design. Each stone is carefully assessed to ensure it’s suited to your vision and to the longevity of the finished piece.
Whichever pathway you choose, the experience is guided, considered, and deeply personal. The difference lies in how you begin, not in the level of care or craftsmanship.

The first step is simply reaching out.
You don’t need to have all the answers, a finished idea, or even a clear plan. Whether you’re ready to move forward or just curious about what’s possible, we’re always happy to start with a conversation and get to know you.
You’re welcome to contact us in whatever way feels most comfortable:
- Send us an email
- Call us anytime on (07 )3252 9850
- Book an in‑store appointment
- Visit our James Street boutique for a chat
We’re proudly Brisbane‑based, with a boutique on James Street in Fortitude Valley, open seven days a week. Visiting in‑store gives you the opportunity to explore our Signature Settings, view a selection of gemstones, and experience our craftsmanship in person. That said, we regularly work with clients across Australia and make the process just as seamless remotely.
Some clients come to us with a clear vision and timeline, while others are at an earlier stage and simply want to explore ideas, materials, or possibilities. We don’t make assumptions about where you are in the journey. Every bespoke conversation begins at your pace.
If you’re unsure where to start, starting here is enough.
-
If you have reference images or inspiration, we love to see them. This might be a photo, a Pinterest board, saved screenshots, or anything that helps communicate the feeling or direction you’re drawn to. These references are incredibly helpful, even if they’re loose or still evolving.
It’s also wonderful if you have any initial thoughts around diamonds or gemstones, such as the type, size, colour, or whether you already own a stone you’d like to work with. Even broad preferences can be a great starting point.
We’ll also ask about any important dates or timelines you’re ideally working towards, as this can help shape what’s possible and how we approach the design.
Finally, having an understanding of the price point you’re most comfortable exploring is very useful. This doesn’t need to be fixed or final, and it can absolutely evolve as the conversation progresses. Even a starting point helps us guide the discussion thoughtfully and make recommendations that feel aligned from the outset.
If you don’t have all of this worked out yet, that’s completely okay. Many bespoke journeys begin with curiosity rather than certainty.

Bespoke jewellery is a considered process, and most pieces take between 6–12 weeks from the time a design is approved and a deposit is secured to completion.
This timeframe reflects the hands‑on crafting process itself. Timelines can vary depending on the design and materials involved. Simpler designs, such as classic bands, often sit at the shorter end of the timeframe, while more intricate designs or pieces requiring specialised stone sourcing naturally require additional time. As a general rule, the more complex the design or material journey, the more time is needed to bring it to life properly.
Before this crafting phase begins, there’s also a collaborative stage where we explore ideas, refine details, and align on the final direction together. This part of the process happens at your pace, and there’s no expectation to rush or commit before you’re ready.
If you’re working towards a specific date, we encourage you to let us know as early as possible. This allows us to advise on feasibility and guide the process accordingly.
We’ll always be transparent about timing and keep you informed throughout, so you know exactly what to expect as your piece comes to life.

Because every bespoke piece is unique, pricing varies depending on the design, materials, and gemstones involved. During your initial conversation, we’ll discuss an indicative investment range so you have clarity early in the process.
Factors that can influence the investment include metal choice, stone selection, and the complexity of the design. Our role is to guide you through these considerations and help shape a piece that feels aligned with both your vision and expectations.
We aim to be transparent and thoughtful when discussing pricing, ensuring there are no surprises along the way.

Yes. We’re proud to work with heirloom stones and gemstones that already hold personal meaning.
If you have a stone set in an existing piece or a loose gemstone you’d like to incorporate into a new design, we’re happy to explore what’s possible. Each stone is carefully assessed to ensure it’s suitable for your vision, lifestyle, and the longevity of the finished piece.
Working with heirloom stones can be a beautiful way to honour the past while creating something new and deeply personal.
We’re also proud to offer GoldSwap, our metal recycling service. Through GoldSwap, we can extract heirloom stones from existing jewellery and provide a credit offer based on the material value of any gold or platinum used. This credit can be applied toward your bespoke commission and is often a meaningful way to offset the investment of your bespoke design.

We work with a range of precious metals, selected for their beauty, durability, and suitability for bespoke jewellery.
Our bespoke pieces are most commonly crafted in:
- 9K, 14K, and 18K gold (yellow, rose, and white)
- Platinum
We’re always happy to guide you through the differences between metal options, including colour, wearability, and long‑term care, to help you choose what best suits your lifestyle and design vision.
If you’re unsure which metal is right for you, this is something we can explore together during your bespoke conversation.

Bespoke jewellery is a collaborative process, shaped through open conversation and thoughtful refinement.
We begin by listening closely to your ideas, inspirations, and preferences, then guide you through options and considerations that help bring clarity to the design. As the process unfolds, we refine details together, ensuring each decision feels considered and aligned with your vision.
Throughout, our focus is on creating a piece that feels balanced, wearable, and true to you. We’ll guide the process step by step, keeping communication clear and ensuring you feel confident as your bespoke design takes shape.

To commence production, we require a 50% deposit of the total bespoke commission.
We understand that bespoke jewellery is often commissioned for meaningful moments, including surprise proposals, and that payment preferences can vary. The deposit can be made using multiple payment methods, and split payments are very common. Clients are also welcome to pay the full amount upfront if they prefer. As long as the total deposit amount is received, production can begin.
Some clients choose to secure a gemstone first, particularly if they’ve fallen in love with a stone from our Gemstone Library and would like additional time to refine their design. In this case, the stone can be reserved, with the remaining deposit finalised when you’re ready to move into production.
If you have questions about timing, payment options, or how best to structure things for your situation, we’re always happy to talk it through. These conversations are a normal part of the bespoke process.
