Gemstones and Diamonds
The pull ofa particular stone
Precious gemstones and diamonds are central to how we see jewellery. Our Gemstone Library opens a world of colour and character, while our diamond expertise and industry relationships let us search beyond what we hold. Whichever way the search begins, we help you recognise the stone worth designing around.
A cut that shifts proportion. A colour that changes character. A scale that alters presence.
We look for the differences that can change the whole piece, and that attention shapes what we collect, what we source and what we bring forward for you to consider.
The Gemstone Library
A library shaped by fascination
Our Gemstone Library is a physical, evolving archive of natural coloured and distinctive gemstones. It brings a broad array into one place, so selected stones can be explored at James Street before the design is settled.
Seen together, colour, cut, origin, scale and character become easier to understand. One stone can sharpen what you notice in another, until preference becomes precise.
A diamond search shaped to the brief
With diamonds, our point of view is expressed through the search. Deep experience and strong relationships across the diamond trade allow us to look beyond what is on hand.
Natural or lab grown preference, colour, shape, scale, budget and certification can all define the field. We narrow it carefully, explain the meaningful differences and bring forward diamonds worth comparing.
What takes shape around the stone
A chosen stone is not a final detail. Its cut, scale and character can shape proportion, orientation, setting and the way the metal is resolved around it.
Every piece commissioned from here is bespoke. It may begin with one of our Signature Settings or with an original design developed from the ground up. The starting point changes. The same care and judgement apply.
See what stays with you
