The composition in detail
A deep green unfolds across the 1.81ct emerald cut parti sapphire, with tonal shifts that move between forest and cooler teal as light travels through its step-cut facets. The geometry of the cut creates a quiet, mirrored depth, drawing the eye inward rather than scattering light outward.
For this piece, we selected The Cleo ring in 18ct yellow gold, setting the sapphire into a bold flat cigar band measuring 4mm in width and 1.2mm in thickness. The strong, continuous surface of gold creates a deliberate contrast to the precise, open structure of the emerald cut, framing the stone with a sense of weight and stillness.
Four claws hold the sapphire just above the band, allowing light to enter from beneath while keeping the outline crisp against the gold. This balance between the band’s solidity and the stone’s internal movement gives the ring a grounded, architectural presence.
This one-of-a-kind Atelier ring is ready to ship, composed with a focus on proportion and restraint. It sits low and steady on the hand, with the colour revealing itself in slower moments.
