The composition in detail
A clear mid-blue oval holds its colour with steady saturation, shifting brighter at the facets where light gathers. The 0.87ct oval-cut Ceylon sapphire is set horizontally, giving it a broader, softer presence across the finger.
For this piece, we chose a low-set solitaire in 18ct yellow gold, allowing the stone to sit close to the hand with a sense of ease. Four rounded claws hold it lightly at the edges, preserving the oval’s uninterrupted line. Along the band, six round white diamonds totalling 0.06ct are hammer-set directly into the gold — flush, integrated, and quiet in their placement.
Selected for their restraint, these diamonds introduce a subtle rhythm of light without competing with the centre stone. Each catches light in passing, while the sapphire’s horizontal orientation offers a gentle counterpoint to their linear spacing. An open, minimal gallery supports light flow through the stone while maintaining a low, considered profile.
