The composition in detail
A rich cognac tone sits at the centre of this 2.17ct cushion cut C5 I1 diamond, shifting between warm amber and deeper brown as light moves through its faceted interior. The cushion shape softens the intensity of the colour, giving it a rounded, almost glowing depth rather than sharp brilliance.
For this piece, we selected The Cosima in 18ct recycled yellow gold, setting the diamond within a fine milgrain bezel that closely follows its softened outline. Surrounding this, a halo of sixteen bezel-set diamonds extends outward, with clustered trios at each side, totalling 0.5ct.
The layered setting builds a gentle, scalloped frame that expands the visual footprint of the centre stone while keeping its edges defined. The milgrain detail introduces a subtle texture, catching light in a quieter way than the diamonds, while the warm gold deepens the cognac tones, allowing the colour to feel grounded and full.
