What is the process?

First, submit your jewellery for a gemstone extraction and Gold Swap evaluation. You can choose to have the gemstones returned to you or held with us to be set in a new piece.

After the extraction, we will test and weigh the remaining gold and send you an obligation-free Swap Offer. If you choose to accept, you'll be issued store credit which you can use to offset the cost of your new custom jewellery, or to purchase any new finery in-store and online.

You may also choose to decline and have your remaining gold returned to you.

How long does the redesign process take?

The timeline from gemstone extraction to receiving your new custom finery varies based on the complexity of your new design, but we'll keep you informed every step of the way.

Will my gemstones be damaged during extraction?

We understand that most gemstones can be safely removed. However, it's important to note that certain factors can present challenges. The extraction process may be more difficult if the stones are securely glued or intricately positioned within the metal. In some cases, we may decide to cease work if we do not feel confident with the stone removal. Rest assured, we will assess each situation carefully to determine the best course of action.

Can I choose which gemstones to extract?

We will extract all suitable gemstones and return them to you or hold them for use in your custom finery.

What can I do with my extracted gemstones?

Can you reuse my gold?

When you choose to transform your old jewellery into something new through Gold Swap, we send it off to be recycled and refined, issuing you store credit to put towards your new piece.

Gold in existing jewellery often contains alloys for strength and colour variations. Using unrefined gold can compromise the integrity of new jewellery, resulting in imperfections like pits and alloy clumps, making the jewellery unwearable.

Though all metals we use are 100% recycled, we cannot directly incorporate your gold into new jewellery due to the need for refining and alloy removal. Instead, we'll use a fresh batch recycled material to craft your new jewellery. This guarantees the highest quality and purity to ensure a lifetime of wear.

How can I upgrade my engagement ring?

Many people choose to upgrade their engagement ring to mark a special anniversary or milestone, or just to create a fresh new look. We offer several options to help you achieve your desired upgrade.

  1. Reuse your original gemstone: We can incorporate your engagement gemstone into a brand new ring, allowing you to retain the sentimental value of your original ring while giving it an updated look.
